At the annual meeting I reminded everyone about posting all your scores, whether it be a 9 or 18 hole round. It is imperative that we get everyone to comply; we have members that play weekdays as well as weekends. Some of these individuals have as little as 2 rounds posted for the year.

Members must post all of your scores to be eligible for club events; this is the responsibility of the player as well as the group, to post scores in compliance with the USGA handicap system.

Starting June 1st if this has not improved I will have to start adjusting handicaps accordingly.

For Example:
If you play in a tournament and do not post your score by Friday of the following week 2 shots will be deducted from your handicap.

This Sunday's Spring Quota will be a 8 am Shotgun start. This event will be mandatory carts for all participants. This event does not have a fee.

Format
You are given a quota based on your course handicap (quota's will be handed out before your round)

Points will be awarded as followed:

Eagle = 8 pts
Birdie = 4 pts
Par = 2 pts
Bogey = 1 pt

Worse than bogey = 0 pts

The players who meets their quota or surpass it will determine our winners. If no player meets their quota, it will go based on who came closest.

Our Entertainment Committee will host a 50/50 hit the green on hole # 10. The fee is $5.00.

The Alling Cup

The Alling Cup is our Annual Player of the Year award, given to the individual who accumulates the most points during our tournament season. This year we decided to add a $10 participation fee (1x fee) for those that would like to participate. The purpose of this fee is so that we can give out prizes to not just the winner, but the Top 5 point leaders at our End of Season Banquet. Our Opening Day Tournament is Sunday April 19, which will be the first tournament to accumulate points for the 2009 Alling Cup. The last day to officially sign up will be April 30th. If you are interested, you can give your money to anyone on the Board of Directors, Larry Thornhill or anyone in the ProShop.

If you haven't signed up for our Opening Day Red Ball (Sun April 19th), please sign up in the Tournament Book in the ProShop. The last day to sign up will be Thursday April 16

Please note that the device must measure distance only.

Local Rule - Distance Measuring Devices: For all play in 2009 CT State Golf Association events, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.

This Sat/Sun will be the qualifier for the Championship Flight for this year's Club Championship. For all individuals wishing to qualify, you will be qualifying from the Black tees. The tournament has a $10.00 Entry fee for all participants. For those individuals not wishing to qualify, you will be flighted based on your handicap index. For our Senior members (60+), their will be a Senior flight, which will be All Net. Please make sure to sign up on the correct sheet in the Men's Locker Room. All Flights will be Match Play, including the Senior Division.

If you fail to qualify for the Championship flight, you will still be able to participate in the event, you will then be flighted based on your handicap index. You do not have the option of selecting what flight you would like to be put in.
